MARVIN HAGLER - BOXING Marvelous Marvin Hagler (born Marvin Nathaniel Hagler in Newark, New Jersey May 23, 1954), a native of Brockton, Massachusetts, was one of the most successful Middleweight Boxing Champions of all-time. Hagler started his professional boxing career in 1973, and soon began working his way up through the Middleweight rankings. He often had to travel to his opponents' hometowns to get fights, often boxing against the best that the city of Philadelphia had to offer (and beating them). |
SERGE NUBRET - BODYBUILDING Serge Nubret was born on the 6th of October 1938 in Anse Bertrand, Guadeloupe. After a happy childhood, running around and playing in the fresh air of such an environment, he moved to France to pursue his scholarship, he was 12 years old. Soon enough, he became aware of his exceptional potential for athletics. Thus, in 1958, back in Guadeloupe after accounting studies, he decided to dedicate himself to bodybuilding which was to become, in his own words, his "reason of being". |
VICTOR DAVIS - SWIMMING Victor Davis was a Canadian Olympic and World champion swimmer. As a boy, Davis learned how to swim in the lakes in the area around his home, then joined the Guelph Marlin Aquatic Club at the age of 12. A dedicated sportsman, he had a fierce passion to win that saw him become one of Canada's most prominent international swimming stars. |
ANDRE AGASSI - TENNIS Andre Agassi is a former World No. 1 professional American tennis player who won eight Grand Slam singles tournaments and an Olympic gold medal in singles. He is one of only five male players to have won all four Grand Slam singles titles and the only male player to have won a career Golden Slam. Agassi is the only men's player in history to have both won all four Grand Slam singles titles and to have won a Grand Slam singles title on each of the three main tennis surfaces (hard court, clay and grass). |
MICHAEL JORDAN - BASKETBALL Michael Jordan (born February 17, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York) is a former American National Basketball Association player, and is considered by many to be the greatest basketball player of all time. A remarkable force at both ends of the floor, Jordan ended a career of fifteen full seasons with a regular-season scoring average of 30.12 points per game, the highest in NBA history. |
